Nurse Residency Program Requirements

Our program attracts the highest caliber applicants that want to launch their professional nursing career in a supportive, stimulating setting. We accept applications from nursing students who are preparing to graduate within the next six (6) months or graduate nursing students who have ≤ six (6) months of experience at the time of application.

Additional eligibility requirements include:

  • Open to 2- and 4-year graduates
    • BSN preferred (from CCNE/NLN accredited program)
    • ADN/ASN must obtain BSN within 4 years of start date
  • At time of application, candidate must be:
    • Nursing student eligible to graduate
    • Graduate nurse with ≤ 6 months experience
    • LPN newly licensed as a RN
  • GPA: Minimum 2.5 (overall and in nursing)
  • 18 + years of age eligible to work in the USA
  • At the time of hire, candidate must have:
    • < 1 year of experience in acute care
    • A current American Heart Association BLS (and ACLS card, if applicable). Card must be signed and not expired. If current CPR card(s) will expire soon, you must get it renewed and provide a copy of the updated cards(s) to the program manager.
  • At time of cohort start date, candidate should have taken the NCLEX in the state where the nurse will be working. Nurse residents must provide a written update of their exam status prior to the first day of the cohort and should have their test date scheduled within 30 days of their start date. Nurse residents will be allowed two attempts to pass the NCLEX.
  • Accept a 2-year commitment with TriStar Facility
