Get to know Lindsay Wilson, RN, BSN, OCN
Nursing Professional Development Specialist
What do you do?
I provide education and evaluate new graduate nurses through didactic and simulation to ensure nurse residents have the knowledge and confidence to care for their patients.
What inspired you to work with the Nurse Residency Program?
I LOVE new nurses. I remember how difficult it was as a new graduate to put my book knowledge into action. I want to ensure new nurses have the support, knowledge and training to provide the best care to every patient, every time.
Nursing is a team sport and I’m dedicated to developing a new generation of nurses and nurse leaders.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part is helping nurse residents increase their confidence as a nurse. Being a new nurse is quite stressful at times. I get the opportunity to see their smiles and faces light up when they learn something new in class or at the simulation lab when they develop confidence to perform clinical skills on their patients.
What do you like to do outside of work?
When I’m not at work (or at Disney World), my husband and I are playing with our little girl, Madeline Grace and our dog, Jonah. You can usually find us chasing Madeline as she drives her pink “Cadillac” (Little Tikes Princess Coupe) down the street, drawing pictures on the sidewalk with chalk or playing in the creek at Edwin Warner Park.
